JGA’S MISSION
The Japan Gridiron Association is dedicated to advancing American football in Japan by creating structured pathways that support athletes’ athletic and academic development.
We design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on skill development, position-specific fundamentals, athletic performance, and football IQ. Through camps, combines, showcases, and specialized training sessions, athletes are provided with consistent, high-level opportunities to grow and improve at every stage of their development.
Beyond the training, we build competitive environments that challenge players while increasing exposure to experienced coaches, elite trainers, and international football networks. By combining development, education, and performance-based opportunities, we create clear pathways that help athletes maximize their potential and pursue opportunities at the next level both in Japan and abroad.
JGA YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMPS
The Japan Gridiron Association (JGA) proudly offers Youth American Football Camps for boys and girls in 1st through 8th grade, providing a fun, structured, and supportive environment for young athletes to learn the game. These camps are designed to introduce the fundamentals of American football while developing key skills such as movement, coordination, agility, and overall game understanding.
JGA hosts camps across Japan, including major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Okinawa, as well as on U.S. military bases in Japan, expanding access to the sport for both local and international communities.
This nationwide footprint ensures athletes from diverse backgrounds can experience high-quality coaching and development opportunities in both civilian and military-connected environments.
Across all locations and programs, JGA emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and character development—building not only better football players, but well-rounded individuals prepared for success on and off the field.
THE JGA GAME OF THE WEEK
The JGA Game of the Week showcases the premier high school American football matchups across Japan each spring and fall season. Featuring elite programs and emerging talent, this weekly spotlight highlights the highest level of competition in the country while capturing the intensity, strategy, and competitive spirit of Japanese gridiron football.
Through in-depth coverage and storytelling, the JGA Game of the Week brings attention to key moments, standout performances, and evolving storylines that define the high school game in Japan—delivering a consistent platform for visibility and recognition within the growing football landscape.
